For example, Contelec sensors are used in the machines of a major Japanese construction machinery manufacturer, where Contelec acts as a single-source supplier. Contelec is very aware of the high level of responsibility in this role and has always been able to deliver and even acquire new customers in times of chip shortages, for example. The team deals exclusively with the latest measurement technologies and develops advanced solutions. However, experience shows that design-in solutions offer numerous advantages: For example, customers' requirements inspire Contelec's engineering team, leading to surprising, clever solutions with optimum performance and close integration into the customer application. The latter, for example, because sensors can be accommodated in the smallest of installation spaces, where standard sensors often fail. To this end, Contelec not only considers the sensor technology itself, but also the installation space and the environment and strives to eliminate unnecessary or mechanically vulnerable parts as far as possible.
The technical advice and cooperation with the customer is always on an equal footing from engineer to engineer. This takes the pressure off the customer's engineers and reduces the total cost of ownership (TCO). Ultimately, this results in solutions that precisely meet the customer's needs - not too much, not too little, "reduced to the max". Customers also benefit from Contelec's broad application experience, including in mobile vehicles, agricultural machinery, rail technology, construction machinery, marine, energy, motor feedback and medical technology.
From a cost perspective, customer-specific design-in solutions are often considered expensive or only economically feasible in large quantities. However, experience shows that, depending on the product, quantities as low as 1000 units per year can be quite attractive. The time required for implementation is also often overestimated. However, Contelec is extremely fast in planning and implementing even complex solutions. For example, a recent project was implemented within twenty days - from drawing approval to the finished sensors made from a plastic injection mold.
Contelec's product range includes a large number of standard sensors in various technologies and dimensions. If this is not sufficient for a customer project and only minor adaptations are required, Contelec offers a variety of options for different parts of the sensors. This applies, for example, to plug connections, cable sets, magnetic encoders, axes, interfaces or accuracy.
